Badal Blasts ‘Holidaying’ CM Over Flood Negligence, Rushes Aid to Khadoor Sahib Farmers

Tarn Taran – Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal today launched a scathing attack on the AAP government, accusing Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann of “abandoning” flood-ravaged farmers in Khadoor Sahib by “holidaying in Chennai” during the state’s grave crisis.
Touring the inundated areas with former MLA Ravinder Singh Brahmpura, Mr. Badal decried the utter failure of the state machinery. “It is a tragedy that while our farmers are fighting for their very survival, the Chief Minister is vacationing instead of being here to lead the response,” he stated to the press.
“Without a leader, the administration is in a ‘Kumbhkarni’ sleep,” Mr. Badal charged, referencing the sleeping giant of the Ramayana. “People have been left to fend for themselves. The Akali Dal will not let them stand alone.”
To provide immediate relief, Mr. Badal announced the dispatch of 20,000 litres of diesel to power machinery for relief and rescue operations. Looking ahead, he vowed that a future Akali government, upon forming in 2027, would implement a permanent solution by fortifying all river embankments.
Constituency in-charge Ravinder Singh Brahmpura informed the SAD President that the floods have destroyed over 20,000 acres of crops. “The AAP government’s insensitivity is shocking. Despite their grand promises, not a single official has come to check on the people’s suffering,” Brahmpura said, thanking Mr. Badal for his visit which he said had “bolstered the morale of the broken-spirited victims.”
Mr. Badal was accompanied by senior party leaders Alwinderpal Singh Pakhoke, Iqbal Singh Sandhu, and other regional office-bearers.
