MARTINEZ, Calif. — Contra Costa County residents will have an opportunity to meet with their state Assemblymember, discuss issues affecting their communities and learn more about state resources during a Fall BBQ and Community Conversation scheduled for Saturday, September 26, in Martinez.The community event will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Nancy Boyd Park in Martinez. Residents are invited to attend with family and friends for complimentary food and an informal conversation with the Assemblymember.
The event follows the conclusion of the state legislative session and is intended to give constituents an opportunity to hear about developments at the California Capitol while also sharing their concerns and priorities directly with their elected representative.According to the event announcement, discussions will include issues such as affordability, public safety, healthcare and other matters of importance to Contra Costa County residents.
“As your Assemblymember, I’m thinking about Contra Costa County every time I vote or bring a bill forward,” the Assemblymember said in the invitation to constituents, emphasizing the importance of hearing directly from residents.In addition to the community conversation, District Legislative Services staff will be available during the event to provide constituent assistance and information about available state programs and resources.Organizers also clarified that the event is not taxpayer-funded.
Residents interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP in advance. The event is open to community members who want to learn more about state legislative activities, access constituent services and share their views on issues affecting their families and communities.
