NAPA Condemns Atrocities Against Farmers and Urges Immediate Acceptance of Their Demands

The North American Punjabi Association (NAPA), under the leadership of its Executive Director, Satnam Singh Chahal, strongly condemns the continued atrocities against protesting farmers in India. NAPA expresses deep concern over the lack of meaningful resolution to their just and rightful demands.

The farmers of India, the backbone of the nation’s economy, have been engaged in a prolonged and peaceful protest against policies that threaten their livelihoods and future. Despite their perseverance and commitment, they face undue hardships, including the use of force, detentions, and other suppressive actions by the authorities. NAPA demands the following actions from the Government of India: An immediate halt to any oppressive measures against the protesting farmers.
The initiation of transparent and meaningful dialogue with farmer representatives.
Acceptance and implementation of the farmers’ core demands to safeguard their economic and social well-being.
Satnam Singh Chahal emphasized that the farming community has always played a vital role in the nation’s progress and deserves the utmost respect and consideration. He further stated, “The global Punjabi diaspora stands in solidarity with the farmers of India and urges the Government to prioritize justice and fairness. ”NAPA believes in the power of dialogue and mutual respect to resolve conflicts and calls upon the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare to take immediate and effective steps to address the ongoing crisis.
