“Court of the People Will Deliver the Verdict” — Pargat Singh’s Warning to CM Bhagwant Mann

Jalandhar Cantt(Sandeep Singh) Former Punjab Cabinet Minister and prominent MLA Pargat Singh has come out strongly against Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, delivering a hard-hitting statement that accuses the AAP leader of having grown increasingly arrogant over the course of his four-year tenure. Singh, a respected voice in Punjab politics and a former Indian hockey international, did not mince his words as he took direct aim at the Chief Minister’s conduct and public demeanour, saying that not only has the arrogance multiplied but the quality of language used by the Chief Minister has also fallen sharply.

Singh turned his attention to the ruling party’s overwhelming presence in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha, noting that the Aam Aadmi Party holds a massive majority of 95 MLAs in the house. Despite this commanding legislative strength, he remarked with visible sarcasm that the party did not dare to bring even a censure motion against its own Chief Minister on the floor of the Assembly. In Singh’s view, this silence speaks volumes — it reveals not confidence, but fear within the ruling ranks, and a complete absence of internal accountability within the AAP government.

However, the former minister made it clear that the absence of a censure motion in the legislature does not mean that accountability has been buried. Warning that time is running out for the ruling dispensation, Pargat Singh reminded the people of Punjab that all the unaddressed motions and unanswered questions will eventually be placed before the highest authority — the voters themselves. “All the motions will definitely be presented in the court of the people,” he declared, underlining that with only a few months remaining, the electoral reckoning is fast approaching.

Singh’s statement is being seen as a significant escalation in the political temperature of the state, with opposition voices growing louder as the next election cycle draws near. His remarks reflect a sentiment shared by many who believe that the AAP government, which swept to power on promises of sweeping change and honest governance, has failed to live up to those lofty expectations. The coming months are expected to see intensified political activity across Punjab, as parties and leaders alike position themselves for the battle ahead in the court of public opinion.
