Hazara(Jalandhar)Last week, the Indo-Nepal International Invitational Championship 2025 was held in Pokhara, Nepal. In this sports, thousands of students of Guru Teg Bahadur Public School, including Prabhdeep Singh, Sukhjit Singh, Harbaj Singh, Ishwardeep Singh, Jasvir Singh, Jaskaran Singh and Manjot Singh, were selected by the Youth and Sports Development Association of India in volleyball and taekwondo at Amritsar.
School Secretary S. Surjit Singh Cheema said that this institution has been encouraging children in this area for the past several decades along with quality education towards sports. On the one hand, the students of this school are making the name of the area bright by excelling in the board examinations in the academic field, on the other hand, the players of this school are also setting a new example in the area by showing their talent in sports. All traditional sports like hockey, football, volleyball, basketball, badminton and kabaddi are played in the open fields of this school. Where C. B. S. E-Cluster and Inter-School Sports Competitions are organized every year on a very large scale. Players from different schools of Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir participate in these games in large numbers. The main goal of these games is to develop physical development of children along with their studies.
Along with this, he said that in this championship, the Under-19 Volleyball players won the second place and Manjot Singh won the second place in Taekwondo Under-17 category weight 50 kg, bringing glory to his school and parents. In this championship, the players of our school represented India and also won the runner-up trophy.
Around 3000 players from India and Nepal participated in this championship with great enthusiasm and showed their talent in their sports. Volleyball, hockey, football, Taekwondo skating and other traditional games were organized in the said championship.
S. Surjit Singh Cheema, Trustee S. Jaswinder Singh, Director Nisha Marhian and Principal Amital Kaur congratulated Manager Vishal Kumar and the players and wished them a bright future and also appealed to the parents to encourage their children to participate in sports more so that the school succeeds in its mission by taking the children to the playground.
