Mehta Chowk —SGPC President Advocate S. Harjinder Singh Dhami specially visited the large relief camp set up in village Bajwa of Ajnala under the leadership of Damdami Taksal head and Sant Samaj President Sant Giani Harnam Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale. During this, he openly praised the relief camp being run by Damdami Taksal and encouraged the teams working day and night. Dhami said that these services are a living picture of the service principle of Sikhism. He appealed to all Sikh Sangats and Punjabi brothers to come forward to provide maximum support to deal with this terrible disaster in the form of floods.
On this occasion, Damdami Taksal leader Bhai Sahab Singh said that the relief camp established under the leadership of Sant Baba Harnam Singh Ji Khalsa will continue continuously until normalcy returns. He said that for the past several days, quality medicines, provisions, beds, 24-hour langar, fodder for animals, free medical camps and other essential facilities are being continuously provided to the flood-affected people.
He said that the farmers have suffered the most due to the floods, whose crops have been completely destroyed. Damdami Taksal has extended its hand especially to help the farmers. Along with food and drink for the people through the camp, complete arrangements have been made for fodder for the animals.
Along with this, branches of educational and religious institutions affiliated with the Taksal – Khalsa Academy, Khalsa College and Khalsa Hospital etc. are also providing continuous services in a large relief camp established on GT Road near Bajwa village on Ajnala-Ramdas road.
In the free medical camp, a team of experienced doctors is providing health facilities to the people, where special care is being taken of women by lady doctors. Apart from this, the Sangat and Sewadars are distributing relief materials by going to Ground Zero in the villages. The Sangat and the poor people of the nearby villages are having food in the 24-hour Langar.
Under the guidance of great men, medical facilities and relief materials are available 24 hours in this camp, which shows the unwavering spirit of the institute towards humanity.
On this occasion, the main spokesperson of Damdami Taksal, Jathedar Bhai Sukhdev Singh, Sant Baba Ajit Singh Tarna Dal, Bhai Parminder Singh, Jathedar Chamkaur Singh, Jathedar Tarlochan Singh, Bhai Gurmukh Singh, Avtar Singh Buttar, Sardar Karanjit Singh, Amrik Singh, Sarpanch Amrik Singh, Jaspal Singh, Daljit Singh, Harnek Singh, Rajwinder Singh, Principal Jatinder Sharma, Principal Gurdeep Singh, Gurmukh Singh, Bhai Harshdeep Singh and many other prominent Singhs were also present.
