*Standing with the flood victims in their pain and suffering is our duty and responsibility: Jhinjer*

Dera Baba Nanak-Under the directions of Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal and the leadership of Youth Akali Dal President and member of the Shiromani Akali Dal Core Committee S. Sarabjit Singh Jhinjer, a mosquito-killing fogging machine spray campaign was launched from the flood-affected village Pakhoke Tahli Sahib. This village, located near Dera Baba Nanak and the Kartarpur Corridor, has been severely impacted due to a breach of about 500 feet in the Ravi River, causing massive flooding in the area. Waterlogging has damaged roads and fields, making life extremely difficult for the people.

Jhinjer stated that President Sukhbir Singh Badal has sent fogging machines to 20 constituencies affected by floods, and Youth Akali Dal teams are actively carrying out fogging operations there. Due to the floods, the mosquito population has surged in villages, rapidly spreading dengue, malaria, and other viral diseases. Keeping this situation in view, Shiromani Akali Dal has laid out a wide service network in these villages.

He added that ration, other essential supplies, and hundreds of tractor-trailers full of fodder for cattle are being delivered to ensure that animals are not left hungry or distressed.

Jhinjer further mentioned that fogging sprays are being carried out to eliminate mosquitoes and prevent the spread of diseases. Along with this, special teams are working to level and restore the flood-damaged lands to make them cultivable again. For children and the elderly in the villages, health services have been arranged, including health camps and medicines to address the ongoing health crisis.

Sarabjit Singh Jhinjer said, “In this difficult time, the most important thing is for all of us to come together and extend support to the victims. Shiromani Akali Dal is putting its full organizational strength and resources into this mission to ensure help reaches every person in need.”

He added that Shiromani Akali Dal President Sardar Sukhbir Singh Badal has been consistently sending aid for the flood victims. He personally connected with people in the affected areas, assessed their needs, and directed immediate action for relief. “Standing with the victims in their pain and suffering is our duty and responsibility, and Shiromani Akali Dal will stand with the people under all circumstances,” Jhinjer emphasized.

He further said that under the leadership of President Sukhbir Singh Badal, the distribution of ration, health services, and fodder is being carried out swiftly in the villages. At the same time, plans are being made in collaboration with local authorities and volunteers to rebuild these villages for the future. Sardar Badal’s goal is to ensure that no affected family suffers from hunger or illness, and that every household receives proper relief.

On this occasion, Shiromani Akali Dal Office In-charge Harinder Singh, Youth leaders Sukhjinder Singh Sonu Langah, Gurjeet Singh Bijliwal, former district president Jagrup Singh, Jaspreet Singh Rana, Kamalpreet Singh Kaki, and other leaders were present.
