Patiala: An important organisational meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was held in Patiala on Monday under the leadership of National General Secretary (Organisation) Shri B.L. Santosh. The meeting focused on further strengthening the party’s organisation across Punjab and infusing fresh energy and motivation among party workers.
Santosh is on a two-day organisational tour of the state (August 24–25) aimed at reviewing grassroots functioning and enhancing preparedness for the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections scheduled for 2027. He was welcomed at Mohali Airport by Punjab BJP President Kewal Singh Dhillon and Co-In-Charge Narendra Singh Raina.
The Patiala zonal meeting brought together party representatives and organisational functionaries from Mohali, Patiala North, Patiala Urban, Patiala South, Fatehgarh Sahib, and Sangrur. Discussions centred on bolstering the organisation down to the booth level, improving coordination, and ensuring active participation of workers. The party also plans to take the policies and achievements of the Central government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the people of Punjab.
Addressing the gathering, Santosh expressed confidence in the party’s prospects, stating that “Punjab is ready for change and the BJP is fully prepared for the opportunity.” He announced that the BJP would contest all 117 Assembly seats independently and work towards forming the next government in the state, amid speculation about a possible alliance with the Shiromani Akali Dal. Punjab BJP President Kewal Singh Dhillon echoed this position, affirming the party’s readiness to go solo.
Santosh also chaired a similar meeting in Bathinda later on Monday, covering leaders from Barnala, Mansa, Bathinda Rural, Bathinda Urban, Muktsar Sahib, Fazilka, and Faridkot. Further zonal meetings are scheduled for Tuesday in Ludhiana, Jalandhar, and Amritsar, along with a separate session with state general secretaries in Amritsar.The organisational drive forms part of the BJP’s intensified preparations in Punjab, focusing on unifying traditional leaders with newer entrants and enhancing overall readiness at every level.
