Preet Kaur Gill Pays Tribute to October 7 Victims, Condemns Antisemitism in Britain

Preet Kaur Gill MP

BIRMINGHAM, UK: British MP Preet Kaur Gill has paid tribute to the victims of the October 7, 2023, Hamas-led attacks in Israel, expressing solidarity with Jewish communities in Birmingham Edgbaston and across the United Kingdom.

In a public statement, Gill remembered those who lost their lives and acknowledged the continuing grief experienced by their families. She stressed that Jewish residents, like all communities, deserve to live safely and freely without fear, abuse or violence.

Standing firmly against antisemitism, Gill said that hatred and discrimination against Jewish people have no place in British society. Her message highlighted the importance of protecting communities from religiously motivated hostility and ensuring that people can practise their faith and live their lives without intimidation.

The October 7 attacks killed approximately 1,200 people in Israel and led to the subsequent war in Gaza, which has caused widespread destruction and a devastating humanitarian crisis among Palestinians. The conflict has also intensified international debate about civilian protection, religious hatred and the urgent need to uphold human dignity.

Gill’s statement serves as a reminder that remembering the victims, supporting grieving families and challenging antisemitism are essential to building a society based on mutual respect, safety and equality.
